WEASA 2017 has officially begun!

The first day was quite a packed one. Participants got to know one another, both at mealtimes and at a visit to the wonderful Wilanów Palace. The whole day culminated in our formal opening ceremony and a formal dinner in the palace.

Participants listened to introductory speeches by Ewa Ośniecka-Tamecka, Vice-Rector of the College of Europe Natolin; Michał Baranowski, Director of the Warsaw Office of the German Marshall Fund of the United States; and Agata Wierzbowska-Miazga, representing the Polish-American Freedom Foundation and the Leaders of Change Foundation.

Dr Jerzy Kwieciński, Secretary of State at Poland’s Ministry of Economic Development, delivered the keynote address. There, he delved into the digital economy successes and challenges that Poland currently faces.
