The WEASA 2026 Peer-to-Peer Professional Meetings Call is Now Open!
We are pleased to announce that applications for the WEASA 2026 Peer-to-Peer (P2P) Meetings are now open.
The initiative responds to the requests and recommendations of our alumni, who expressed a strong interest in getting to know one another better and strengthening professional connections across the network. The programme supports alumni visits to fellow WEASA graduates for professional exchanges, research, interviews, collaborative projects, and other initiatives related to the core themes of WEASA.
This year, we will support two alumni by reimbursing travel and/or accommodation expenses of up to 500 EUR per visit.
Please note: In 2026, funding is available only for alumni from the Eastern Partnership (EaP) countries. However, host organisations or individuals may be based in either the Eastern Partnership or the Western Balkans.
What type of visit are we looking for?
We invite applications for visits that have a clear professional objective and a tangible outcome. The final output may include, for example a journalistic article; a policy analysis; a research paper; a video material; another product that contributes to knowledge sharing within the WEASA community.
Projects should relate to one or more of the main WEASA themes, including: Euro-Atlantic integration; disinformation and information resilience; digital security; democratic processes; human rights.
Finding a host
If you already have a specific idea or area of interest, we encourage you to connect with a fellow WEASA alumnus or alumna who can host your visit. You can identify potential hosts through the WEASA communication platform and/or the WEASA All Editions Facebook group.
Each individual or organisation may host only one visiting alumnus/alumna under this call. However, applicants are encouraged to meet with additional organisations or alumni during their visit, as this will be considered an advantage during the selection process.
How to apply
Before applying, please:
- Contact a potential host from the WEASA alumni network.
- Discuss the purpose and format of your visit.
- Confirm that your host is available and agree on suitable dates.
Once these arrangements have been made, submit your application by emailing your motivation letter to contact@weasa.org.
Your application letter should include:
- the purpose of the visit;
- the reasons for selecting the host;
- a draft programme of the visit, including proposed dates;
- the expected outcome(s);
- the proposed budget.
Reimbursement
Travel and/or accommodation costs will be reimbursed after the visit upon submission of 1) a visit report; 2) proof of expenses; and 3) the final product resulting from the visit.
To ensure timely completion of the programme, applicants are kindly asked to organise their visit and submit the final output by mid-November 2026.
Deadline
Application deadline: 20 August 2026
Applications will be evaluated jointly by WEASA and its partners based on: the relevance of the proposed visit; the expected impact; and the quality and feasibility of the proposed outcome.
